FIELD ENGINEER

ENTACT is currently seeking motivated engineers to build careers in the geotechnical and environmental construction/remediation industry.; be willing to travel 100% of the time; and possess a solid work ethic. No experience is necessary; however, work experience in the construction industry is preferred. Job duties will vary based on the strengths of the successful candidate but may include:

Essential Job Functions

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Estimating
  • Scheduling
  • Procurement
  • Project engineering
  • Land surveying
  • CAD
  • Field project accounting
  • Contracts administration
  • Quality control
  • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge: CAD and surveying skills

    Education: Candidates should possess a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree

    Licenses/Certifications: HAZWOPER 40-hour training and current refresher. Must have valid Driver's license with no driving restrictions.

    Physical and Visual Activities Required:

    Physical and visual activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include:
    • Performing physical activities that may require moving one's whole body, such as in climbing, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, handling, balancing, walking, stooping, where the activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs, such as in the physical handling of materials or tools or operation of tools and equipment.
    • Using one's own hands and arms in handling, positioning, installing, and moving materials, or in manipulating things.
    • Standing, walking, riding, sitting, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, acuity-near, hand to eye coordination.
    • Match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
    • See objects or movement of objects to one's side when the eyes are focused forward.
    • Hear the direction from which a sound originated.
    • Detect distance of objects and depth perception.
    • The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.
    • The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs.
    • The ability to use one's abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time with giving out or fatiguing.
    • The ability to quickly make coordinated movement of one hand, a hand together with its arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, operate, or assemble objects.
    • The ability to coordinate the movement of the arms, legs, and torso together in activities where the whole body is in motion.
    • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

    • Frequent face-to-face interaction with others. Listening to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate. Physical Demands/Activities

      Physical, visual and situational activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
      • Most work is performed while standing or walking outdoors.
      • Must be capable of working under physical stress conditions such as heat stress and cold stress during various weather conditions and potential long workdays.
      • Possibility of use of respiratory equipment (i.e. half-face, full-face, SCBA, etc.)
      • Heat extremes when wearing certain types of PPE. Wear Level C and D PPE including cotton, Tyvek, chemical protective coveralls, eye and face protection, hand protection, etc. Potential for Level A and B PPE exists.
      • Working on elevations such as scaffolding, bridges, buildings, etc.
      • Expected to lift objects weighing 1 to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
      • Donning of varying types of personal protective equipment (PPE) as project requirements and conditions warrant. Minimum PPE includes steel toe safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs and reflective safety vest.
      • Working in loud or noisy environments. Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:

        Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include:
        • Outside construction site.
        • Terrain is rugged and may be difficult to navigate.
        • Dusty and windy atmospheres.
        • Confined spaces.
        • Contaminated atmospheres (i.e. fumes, vapors, lead dust, H2S, etc.)

          Personal Protective Equipment

          Different types of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be worn including, but not limited to hard hat, hearing protection such as ear plugs or muffs, eye protection such as safety glasses, goggles, face shield, etc., welders helmet, safety vest, various types of gloves including leather, Nitrile, latex, etc., steel toe boots, and various respiratory protection such as dust masks, half face and full face respirators, SCBAs, APRs, etc. may be required depending on site conditions. Protective coveralls include cotton, Tyvek, fire retardant, chemical protective, etc.

          Salary Range: $68,000 - $100,000 inclusive of Team Share Bonus
