Job Description:
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Embedded Software
Engineering Manager to lead the full development design cycle, with
a focus on lithium-ion and lead battery energy management systems.
This role requires close collaboration with systems and electronics
hardware engineers and hands-on development of control and
communication algorithms. The ideal candidate will have a strong
technical background in embedded software architecture, real-time
software development, IoT, and software quality control, along with
extensive experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Key
responsibilities include initiating and refining technical
specifications, executing test plans, and ensuring high-quality,
secure, and extensible software solutions.Responsibilities
- Carry out full life-cycle software development for
safety-critical systems: plan, develop, document, SQC.
- Work with other disciplines, including systems and hardware
engineering.
- Participate in development of new control and communication
algorithms for the charging and monitoring of lithium-Ion
batteries.
- Initiate or revise specifications, deviations, drawings, and
proposals as needed during problem resolution.
- Develop and execute test plans to fulfill requests for product
and application information.
- Recommend and assist in the development and testing of new
products to support lithium customer applications.
- Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security,
modifiability, extensibility, etc.
- Technical expert (Understands technical requirements as well as
tools required).
- Apply extensive technical expertise in software architecture
and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and
company goals. Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years' experience managing an embedded software team.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Experience mentoring software engineers and building a great
work culture.
- 10+ years relevant design and development experience.
- Experience architecting software solutions and technology
roadmaps.
- Proven experience following software best practices and robust
design process.
- Software Agile methodology and Waterfall experience
- C embedded programming skills.
- Python programming skills.
- Experience in real-time embedded software development
life-cycle processes.
- Must be eligible to work in US either as a US Citizen or
Permanent Resident
- Proficiency in English (written and oral).Desirable- experience
with:
- Lithium battery technology
- Battery Management Systems
- Processors: Infineon XMC family
- IDE/Tool Suites: IAR Embedded Workbench, GiTLab
- Embedded OS: Salvo, Linux, WinCE
- Communication protocols and drivers: J1939, CANOpen, SMBus,
USB, SPI, I2C, UART
- Other languages Eg: Python, JAVA, C# for PC GUI rapid
prototyping
- USB Software development experience
- SQC (Software Quality Control)
- Connectivity IoT protocols like Bluetooth and WiFi.
- IoT ecosystem integration
- Agile SW full project development (Scrum, other).
- Waterfall project development.
