The Capitol Hill Child Enrichment Center at Georgia State
University is seeking to hire a Child Development Aide I.
Our Child Development Program serves a three-fold purpose: First,
provide a high-quality environment and experience for young
children and their families. Second, our mission, as a lab site,
supports research about young children. We also prepare Georgia
State students to do professional work with young children. Third,
serve as demonstration and training sites for Georgia's early care
and education community.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Child Development Aide I performs entry-level childcare duties
under the supervision of a Child Development Specialist (Lead
Teacher).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Assisting with providing physical care for infants, toddlers, or
preschool aged children.
Completing routine childcare tasks such as diapering, feeding,
toilet training, assisting with toileting, and handwashing.
Assisting at meal and/or nap times.
Assisting in planning and coordinating developmentally appropriate
activities.
Helping with preparing teaching materials.
Performing housekeeping tasks as required, such as sweeping floors,
cleaning tables and chairs, changing linens, washing toys, and
washing and/or folding laundry.
Ensuring the physical safety of all children in the classroom
and/or play area.
Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED and six months experience working in a
childcare setting or successful completion of a childcare training
program. Criminal background check is required.
Preferred Requirements:
The preferred candidate will have knowledge of accreditation and
licensing regulations, be able to lift small children (0 - 35
lbs.), and be able to communicate effectively with all age
groups.
