  The Research and Innovation (R&I) department will be focused on supporting efforts to grow the Digestive Health Enteral Feeding medical device business. This role requires a professional with entry level experience in Research and Development or New Product Development to deliver on the product development roadmap growing Avanos' enteral feeding business. This candidate must support technical teams for design, development and implementation of changes and improvements to existing products within Avanos' Digestive Health Business. Responsibilities
  --- Work closely with business and cross-functional partners to support projects as part of the multi-year roadmap for the digestive health portfolio balancing technical complexity, regulatory pathway, customer needs and feedback with project timelines.
  --- Influence product development and design control activities from concept to commercialization via Avanos' stage-gate process.
  --- Displays a solid technical/scientific understanding of principles and medical device procedures.
  --- Provide technical expertise in the design, development, and manufacture of products & solutions associated with the technology platform.
  --- Define testing and equipment requirements to support all device requirements including bench testing, lab testing, equipment installations and validations.
  --- Provide technical support to customers regarding product requirements and therapy methods.
  --- Complete all work in a safe manner consistent with Avanos Medical safety & quality protocols.
  --- Participate in Design Thinking Workshops to develop a pipeline of new products
  --- Willing to travel up to 15% at times. Your Qualifications
  (Required experience is preferred, but if there are additional preferences list them and specify, they are a preference)
  Required
  --- R&D with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 0-2 years of experience in Research, Design or Innovation medical device experience, or a Master of Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Innovation and Development
  --- Experience in translating voice of customer to unmet needs.
  --- Experience observing customers firsthand to uncover unmet needs.
  --- Experience generating and/or updating technical documentation (market requirements, product requirements, specifications, feasibility engineering reports, test plans & procedures) while ensuring traceability back to source documents and rationales.
  --- Experience in medical device concept design and technical execution.
  --- Working knowledge of design controls (FDA 21 CRF 820.30) and medical device quality management systems.
