About the Role:

As a CBRE Health, Safety and Environment Manager, you will be in charge of creating and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs for construction projects at our client sites.

This job is part of the Environment Health and Safety function. They are responsible for organizational programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities.

The job is remote with approximately 40% travel to construction sites across the US.

What You'll Do:

  • Promote a positive and proactive culture to influence stakeholders, and to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with implementing and reviewing playbooks, and procedures. Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives drive program consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage initiatives to meet regulatory, legal, compliance and client safety requirements for CBRE, General Contractors and subcontractors
  • Track operational and safety risks. Develop and manage strategic risk management strategies to avoid potential incidents.
  • Monitor injury, illness, and incident reports. Provide recommendations on how to prevent risk.
  • Interface and support the construction management team at site by delivering current data on project HSE performance, including trending, incident management, HSE metrics and other key information that enable PJM construction management to make informed and timely decisions.
  • Monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental regulatory compliance within the project. Work with management to create strategic solutions that improve and maintain compliance as required.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify potential concerns. Communicate findings, concerns, and deficiencies to responsible functional managers, including risk and hazard assessments.
  • Assist in design reviews throughout the Life Cycle; i.e. - planning, design, permitting, construction, and handover to operations.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.

    What You'll Need:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
    • Minimum five or more years' construction administration, architecture, engineering or similar experience.
    • Certifications such as CSP, CHST, OHST are preferred
    • Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
    • Familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types and systems.. Additional certifications as required by the local authority.
    • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
    • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
